 Online Daily Drawing Project

May 9 – June 8, 2012In the 31 days leading up to Vancouver Draw Down, starting exactly one month prior on May 9, 2012, you are invited to take part in daily drawings. Here’s what you need to do to get involved:

“Think you can’t draw? Think again. Vancouver Draw Down is an annual, daylong celebration of drawing that challenges every single Vancouverite—young and old—to dispel their preconceptions about drawing, touch a pen to a piece of paper, and make a mark. If you can write your name, you can draw!

1. FOLLOW – Follow Vancouver Draw Down on Facebook and/or Twitter and look for the daily drawing instructions starting the morning of May 9. Instructions will also be posted on their website Vancouver Draw Down

2. READ – Each Daily Drawing Project will consist of two sets of instructions. Choose the Challenging Instructions (15 minute drawings for people with more drawing experience and/or time), or the Just For Fun Instructions (5 minute drawings for people with less experience and/or time).

3. DRAW – Use whatever drawing tools you like, except when otherwise noted in the instructions. Don’t worry about making mistakes—be creative and have fun! Vancouver Draw Down ask that you not use rulers or erasers for any of your drawings, and that you stick to the time limits. Daily drawings should be no larger than 8.5X11.

4. SHARE – Share your work with Vancouver Draw Down! Send scans or photographs of your daily drawings at any point during the month-long challenge, they will be displayed the  website and facebook page. Email vandrawdown@gmail.com with jpeg files no larger than 72 dpi, 1024 X 768 pixels, maximum 1MB. All drawings featured in the onine galleries will remain anonymous.  Get Drawn In!
