Watch the arrival of the fur brigade

Brigade Days- Watch the arrival of the fur brigade
Join HBC workers, Aboriginal traders, and trappers as they swap stories, play music, and show off traditional skills. The weekend features a large period encampment, a fur trade cook-off at 4:30 pm on August 5, and the “Arrival of the Fur Brigades” canoe re-enactment at 1 pm Monday. As part of Parks Canada’s 2012 Bicentennial of the War of 1812, hear the behind-the-scenes politics that led to Fort Langley’s establishment and led to the building of the Canadian nation. On August 6 at 6 pm, bring the family and a blanket or chairs to enjoy the annual “Picnic in the Park” inside the fort. The concert includes performances by the Langley Music School Fiddlers with Andrea Taylor leading in for John Reischman and the Jay Birds. Bring a picnic or pick up food at the barbecue provided by the Full Barrel Café.
