Reel 2 Real Youth Film Festival

Reel 2 Real International Film Festival for Youth seeks films that are imaginative, evocative, innovative, inspiring, entertaining, and suitable for children 6 and up, and youth 13 and up. We accept features, shorts, documentaries, experimental films and animation in 35 mm, Beta SP, Digital Betacam, and DVD (PAL and NTSC). Entries should be completed after January 2011.

Teen Reading Club

Every time you submit a book review, you enter a contest to win an iPod Touch. Two iPod Touches (each 8GB) will be awarded randomly. So, the more posts you write, the more chances you have to win.

A grand prize (32GB) will be awarded as the Librarians’ Choice. Your review must impress! Make us weep or make us laugh, but definitely make us desperate to read the book!

We will look at creativity, originality, taste and presentation.

Only members of a library in the Lower Mainland and surrounding area (InterLINK service area) are eligible to win.

We’ll be making one random draw on August 10 and another random draw on August 31. The deadline for your review to be considered for the Librarians’ Choice is August 31and the winner will be announced by September 7.

Reel 2 Real: Young Filmmakers Showcase

Entry Form Now Available

The Young Filmmakers Showcase (YFS) brings together the best film and video made by youth (19 years and under) from across British Columbia. Are you a filmmaker or aspiring filmmaker? This is your chance to show us what you can do with a camera, your imagination and maybe a little helpfrom your friends.

Submission Criteria
* YFS is open to filmmakers who are, as of September 1, 2012, 19 years of age and under.

Evaluation Criteria

Between 15-25; Resident of the Lower Mainland; Involved in his/her local community;  positive role model to those around them; A youth who has overcome obstacles; someone not recognized previously
